After the postponement of the ICC World T20 2020, IPL Governing council is all set to have a meeting within a week or two. And will decide on the terms of upcoming IPL season at the UAE as the host this year.

The ICC World T20 which was scheduled to be held in Australia in October-November was postponed on Monday, 20th of JULY 2020 due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
“The IPL Governing Council will have a meeting within a week or two and will decide on various terms and the final schedule for the tournament.” Chairman Brijesh Patel told PTI.
“ Just the operational side of it. Whether you do it here or outside, it doesn’t matter (with no crowds), Patel says when asked about the main challenges in conducting the event.
While the franchises had already been working on their plans for the IPL even before ICC announcement, the majority of players don’t have access to grounds amid the pandemic and will need at least three to four weeks to get themselves match ready.
Foreign players will fly in directly to the UAE from their respective countries.
“ Our players will need at least three to four weeks of training to get themselves match-ready. We will finalise our plans once the BCCI announces the dates. It looks like IPL will be in the UAE and we are ready for that,” a team owner told PTI.
Test specialist like Cheteshwar Pujara and Hanuma Vihari, who are not playing IPL will likely train for the eagerly awaited tour to Australia in a bio-secure environment at the newly-renovated Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad, along with some fringe players and the Indian Teams’s support staff, which of them are free during the time of IPL.
Also there is a possibility that IPL commentary will happen from the home of the respective commentators as it is a much more comfort and safer option considering the likes of Sunil Gavaskar who is 71.
